The Committee structure for 2025 has changed, as mentioned by the President at the AGM, HockeyAW would be introducing the smaller Competitions & Umpires Committee to assist these Directors within the role. These Committee’s will be anonymous as all questions or feedback in regard to decisions made, should be directed to Deb or Georgie as the Director. Nominations for these Committee’s will be reviewed by the Board and those members chosen will be notified as soon as possible.
These two Committees are:
- Competition Advisory Committee (CAC)
- Umpiring Advisory Committee (UAC)
Nominations will close 11:59pm Sunday 16th February 2025. Please email admin@haw.net.au with your name, contact number and email address for correspondence.
At a later date we will also call for nominations for the below Committee’s. This is the same set up as previous years, there will be 1 member from each Club and that person will be your link back to your Club Committee’s, to deliver important information in regard to the Competition and Umpiring.

- Umpiring Communication Committee (UCC)
What is involved?
CAC:
This committee will have approx. 4 meetings (face-to-face and online) at the beginning and throughout the season to discuss the competition and the rules. They give advice to HockeyAW regarding application of the rules and provide support for the management of the competitions. Most interaction is via email. Members of this committee do not need to be current playing members however, a good understanding of Hockey would be necessary.
UAC:
This committee will correspond mostly via email or WhatsApp to assist the Umpires Director with decisions in regard to mentoring, competency, feedback etc. We are seeking 1 or 2 people to assist with rostering to ensure this can be delivered in a timely manner. Members of this committee do not need to be current playing members however, a good understanding of Hockey would be necessary.
CCC & UCC
These Committees will meet at times required by the Director, the first of these will be prior to the commencement of the season. The purpose of these meetings is to share relevant information in regard to the Competition and Umpiring, so that it can be shared within your Club to ensure that everyone (Coaches, Manager & Players) has the most up to date information. Information will also be shared via email at times, particularly if the matter is urgent.
